The Henzi conspiracy (known in Bern also Burger noise) was held in 1749 place and was the attempt by some citizens of Bern, to overthrow the ruling patrician families.
history
In the 18th century, only about 80 families of about 350 Burger families in the Council of the City of Bern were represented. The supremacy of a few patrician families who occupy lucrative offices of state, aroused the anger of the citizens more and more families.
in 1710, 1735 and 1744 expressed in various disaffected Bernburger families critical of the electoral mode of the Grand Council. They called in memoranda that open the Bernese patrician families for the burgers and they should be involved in the government. 1744 responded patrician Republic Bern hard and it came to fines and banishment. The Bernese government reacted very quickly because they feared the spread of the "uprising" in the country. On 3 July 1749 was secretly searched all over the city after the conspirators. On 4 July 1749 marched troops into the city and about 70 conspirators were arrested. Only Gabriel Gottfried Kuhn Fueter and unable to resist the arrest.
