After a few days ago a very impressive have also brought fun preparatory seminar in Berlin at Werftpfuhl behind me, I now only wish possible quickly fly away!
Together with other "weltwärts" volunteers (now only WWF) who go to Rwanda, Malawi, in Benin and the Philippines, I have learned a lot about important issues in which we generally short lectures in the large group have received and have the content then in smaller groups, and discusses. It was about
"Global Learning" , privilege, racism and our motivations, hopes and fears for the wwJahr. We were also pointed out some important little things linguistic. For example, were words such as "development aid" or "developing countries" largely banished from our language and by terms such as "development cooperation" (SR) and a "global south" respectively. In addition, on gendered (caution: Anglicism!) Tag and on the "I" care instead of the "man".
I hope that I have internalized all of these things some extent, and perhaps can carry on. Now I am looking forward
the nice people with me on 13th September fly away to meet again and in the other joint preparation Manila!
